Liverpool China Partnership

Elected to the position of  Chairman by the Directors of the Liverpool China Partnership in 2019, Paul brings over two decades of international trade expertise and over ten years of active engagement with China to the role.  Paul is the founder of Ki Partnerships Ltd and is heavily involved in the  Department for International  Trade’s (DIT) Exporting is GREAT campaign which aims to spark a movement around the UK of companies selling their products and services overseas.

At the heart of the campaign is the Export Champion Community, which consists of 'Export Advocates' and 'Export Champions' from everyday businesses of all shapes and sizes, run by extraordinary people from around the UK that are proudly selling overseas.

Paul was a founding Export  Champion in the   Northwest of England in 2013, and in 2019 he became one of the Government's first appointed   Northern Powerhouse Export Champions. In 2018 Paul was recognised for his excellence in trade and investment overseas when he was presented with the first UK Board of Trade Award. The award celebrates   those that show exceptional innovation, encourage prosperity in   their local communities and champion free trade. As an export champion and as our Chairman Paul encourages others to start exporting, by offering practical advice on how to turn exporting ambitions into reality, and by sharing experiences of how to break into new international markets.

Paul is a regular speaker for the DIT on the virtues of international trade, having attended and led many missions to China since his first  China mission to the  World  Expo in Shanghai in 2010. He continues to work with companies from across the Liverpool City Region looking to start their export journey as well as supporting those looking to set up in the UK from  China. Paul is also an expert in  Foreign Direct Investment from overseas markets back into UK businesses and real estate.  As our Chairman, Paul brings together our business, academic and civic partners in the promotion of trade and friendship with our counterparts in China.
